„Livet. Suite for Earth” is an international musical and theatrical project carried out in 2023 by Art Factory (Fabryka Sztuki) in Łódź as part of ACT_IN_OUT project, financed by Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway, within the framework of European Economic Area and Norway grants.
Purpose of the project is meeting of five cultures and five different musical traditions, gathering around common motto, expressing worry for the future of our planet. „Livet” is a contemporary oratorio for Earth, composed and arranged by Piotr Klimek for four solists, a choir consisting of thirteen singers and five-member jazz band of Polish and Norwegian origin. This music is inspired by traditional songs from Bulgaria, Ukraine, Poland, Norway and - most importantly - Saami people. Selected musical plotlines of five European traditions tell the tale of an unbreakable bond between human beings and nature, taking care of our planet and uncertainty about the survival of mankind. We would like to remind listeners and ourselves that we don’t have much time left to cherish life on this planet.
On October 21, after international premiere in Łódź, team of artists responsible for the creation of concert travels to Oslo. From the stage of St. Jacob Church we’re going to hear Tord Gustavsen, Eivind Aarset, Rune Arnesen and Tore Brunborg from Norway with Piotr Rodowicz from Poland. Solo parts will be sung by Elina Toneva (Bulgaria), Zoriana Dybovska (Ukraine), Marja Mortensson (Saami) and Joanna Chmielecka (Poland). Bilingual narration will be conducted by an outstanding Visjoner Teater actress - Juni Dahr (Norway) - and CHOREA Theatre director - Tomasz Rodowicz (Poland).
