Communal Choir

Communal Choir - was established in 2024. The group consists of both experienced singers and people taking their first steps in group singing. The choir has not only an artistic function, but above all an educational and social one - it connects people through singing together, and creates a safe and creative space for development and cooperation.

Communal Choir was established as part of the Przestrzenie Sztuki Łódź - Teatr program.  The concert of the Communal Choir - "Hoson Zes / Shineji" is the result of over a year of musical work by the group, which was born from a passion for singing together. Initially a loose and open group of enthusiasts, over time transformed into a 30-person choir, ready to face extremely demanding and rarely performed musical material.

The repertoire is based on contemporary arrangements of ancient Greek music - pieces originating from the beginnings of CHOREA Theatre. These compositions are raw, primary, and at the same time extremely alive. Their rhythmic intensity and vocal expression evoke echoes of the beginnings of European culture - echoes of sounds from centuries ago that still resonate in today's listeners.

The concert by the Communal Choir is not only a presentation of the works' effects, but also a manifestation of community, openness and the strength that comes from being together in music.
